Evergreen Line has launched its new regional service to cover Italian Tyrrhenian Ports, Tunis and Libya, via its Mediterranean hub port of Taranto. With this new service, Evergreen is able to add these ports to its direct global coverage.

The 612TEU vessel, Reecon Eagle, commences on the beginning of March, 2008 from Taranto to operate the ten-day rotation as follows:

Taranto - Civitavecchia - La Spezia - Tunis - Misratah - Taranto

The company's spokesman says:

"This new feeder service is providing customers with greater capacity, improving operation efficiency and schedule integrity; moreover, it is helping to create a win-win situation for both shippers and the carrier to seize new business opportunities in Tyrrhenian and North Africa areas."

 

EVERGREEN Line launches Adriatic Feeder Service

 

EVERGREEN Line has started a new regional service to the main central Adriatic and Balkan ports this month.

The new service, named the Adriatic Feeder Service (AFS), is expected to "significantly improve" the existing intra-Mediterranean feeder network that uses the port of Taranto in Italy as a hub, a statement from the carrier said.

The first sailing was scheduled to depart from Taranto on June 13, and will be undertaken by the 974-TEU vessel, the Iris Bolten.

The ports of call on a seven-day rotation are: Taranto, Ancona (Italy), Ploce (Croatia), Bar (Montenegro), Durres (Albania), Taranto.
